Most towns and rural villages have a number of families who have lived there for generations or achieved who have fame or fortune (or notoriety) by various means. Chelveston is no exception.

- Morris Family
The Morris family have been in the village for 5 generations (1844 - present)
- Simpson Family
The Simpson family were only in village for 2 generations (1906 - 1947), but prominent in their time.
